If it is determined that your qualifications are a good match for an IHS search, an IHS consultant will contact you and set up a phone interview. Before the interview the search consultant will send you the information he has regarding the position and the organization.

After the initial interview the consultant and you determine whether you should go forward as a candidate for the identified position. If you accept the invitation to pursue the position you may or may not be asked to do a video conference or a face to face interview with the IHS consultant. This second interview represents another decision point in the process in which the candidate pool is again narrowed down. You will be notified whether or not you were considered one of the best matches.

If you are selected and you elect to stay in the pool, your candidacy will be discussed with the client employer. An initial reference check and credentials verification will be done at this time. The consultant will not check references without your permission. The employer then decides which of these candidates he would like to interview. Typically, the employer will proceed with two rounds of on site interviews, but the exact number depends on the particular search. If you are a finalist a more thorough reference check will be done.

Your IHS consultant will keep you informed along the way as to the viability of your candidacy and the timetable of the search. You should feel free to ask the consultant questions concerning the position or the organization. Please share with him any important concerns you have regarding the job move such as salary, family relocation, etc. Clarity on these issues up front allows for a smoother search process.

Any typical travel expenses you incur as a candidate will be reimbursed by the client employer.
